Intervista a ELLEN POMPEO - Friendly

Nata a Boston, ma di origine italiana, la trentasettenne Ellen Pompeo è diventata famosissima due anni fa in America - e poi anche in Italia - come protagonista della serie tv Grey's Anatomy, a coronamento di una carriera di attrice con oltre 20 film alle spalle (tra cui Old School, Daredevil, Prova a prendermi). E' fidanzata da anni con Chris Ivery, un produttore discografico di colore.

Questa diversità ha mai costituito un problema tra voi?
Assolutamente no. Solo pensare che il colore della pelle possa significare qualcosa di speciale in un rapporto denota un punto di vista ottuso e razzista. Meglio invece pensare a quello che lega due persone, che sono sempre meno prevedibili di quello che si tende a pensare. Chris è un uomo bellissimo e abbiamo in comune molto di più di tante coppie che conosco con lo stesso colore di pelle. E' il fidanzato perfetto. E' alto, scuro e affascinante, estremamente divertente. Inoltre ha un:incredibile energia, è uno che quando entra in una stanza la gente non può fare a meno di notare. Insomma, è una persona molto eccitante.

Come vi siete conosciuti?
Ci siamo conosciuti in un supermercato nel 2003, presentati da un comune amico. Abbiamo cominciato a parlare di cucina, che è una passione di entrambi e galeotti furono gli spaghetti e il buon vino! Siamo diventati amici e dopo sei mesi ci siamo messi insieme. Ci siamo sentiti subito vicini perché abbiamo molte cose in comune. Boston, per esempio: siamo cresciuti lì entrambi. E, poi, l'Italia: io provengo da una grande famiglia cattolica di origine italiana (mio nonno paterno è nato a Gesualdo, vicino a Napoli) e anche Chris, che invece è mezzo ebreo, ha una sua "famiglia italiana".  Quindici anni fa, infatti, ha vissuto a Bologna per quasi un anno, ospite di una famiglia cui tuttora è legatissimo. A Natale sono venuti a trovarci e abbiamo cucinato il cotechino. Siamo stati benissimo e presto verremo in Italia proprio per andarli a trovare. Io e Chris siamo già stati in Italia tante volte, ma quest'anno vorremo esplorare il Sud che non conosco affatto, e magari la Sardegna, che mi dicono sia bellissima.

E' vero che il fidanzamento è avvenuto in stile "vecchio stampo"?
Si, il fidanzamento è avvenuto con una proposta formale e un bellissimo anello con incastonato un diamante da tre carati e mezzo, disegnato dal gioiellere Tacori. Me lo ha donato proprio nel giorno del mio 37esimo compleanno.

In Grey's Anatomy lei ha una relazione molto passionale con Patrick Dempsey e Chris è spesso presente sul set. Non la imbarazza?
Il problema è soltanto tenere lontano Chris quando giriamo scene di sesso, perché non voglio farlo soffrire. E la sera a casa, quando viene trasmessa la serie, mi invento improbabili "carichi" di bucato nella lavatrice proprio quando arrivano le scene più osè!

Che cosa comprende per voi una "serata perfetta"?
Il nostro passatempo preferito è stare a casa (ndr: hanno recentemente ristrutturato una villa a Santa Monica) e cucinare: facciamo di tutto, pizza, pasta, pesce. E amiamo farlo insieme. Il nostro ideale di una bella serata è passeggiare sulla spiaggia, portare fuori i cani e poi, dopo cena, coccolarci sul divano a guardare un film. Spesso, però, per il suo lavoro siamo circondati da tanti musicisti e andiamo a concerti, anche se io non amo molto stare in mezzo alla folla.
Ma Chris chiede sempre la mia opinione sulla musica che produce, soprattutto di musicisti neri, e non le nascondo che a me fa molto piacere consigliarlo. Siamo una coppia aperta, ma solo di mente.

Ellen Pompeo

Nata a Boston il 10 Novembre 1969. Prima del serial "Grey's Anatomy" Ellen ha avuto un'audizione per il pilot di un telefilm, "Secret Service", che non ha mai debuttato su alcun network. Ellen Pompeo ha debuttato sul grande schermo con Moonlight Mile (2000) di Brad Silberling al fianco di Susan Sarandon, Dustin Hoffman e Jake Gyllenhaal. Ha già ricevuto critiche entusiastiche per il suo ruolo in questo film. Prima di questo film ha partecipato a molti progetti indipendenti come In the Weeds e Coming Soon. Troviamo altre apparizioni di Ellen Pompeo in Old School (2003) con Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn e Will Ferrell e ancora prima nel blockbuster Prova a prendermi (2002) con Leonardo DiCaprio e Tom Hanks.

Patrick Dempsey

Nato a Lewison (Maine) il 13 Gennaio 1966. Patrick si è sposato due volte. Ai tempi del suo primo matrimonio con Rocky Parker, durato dal 1987 al 1994, lui aveva 21 anni mentre la sua compagna 48. Dal 1999 è sposato con Jill Fink e ha un figlio. Nel tempo libero adora collezionare oggetti antichi, arredare case e sciare.
Fresco di nomina per i Golden Globe 2006, Patrick Dempsey esordisce con film romantici degli anni ’80 in cui non risalta mai particolarmente.
Più recentemente ha invece collezionato alcune apparizioni interessanti in film di successo quali Scream 3 (2000) e Tutta colpa dell’amore (2002) accanto a Reese Whiterspoon.
Tra le altre pellicole possiamo segnalare Innamorati Pazzi (1989) al fianco di un allora semi sconosciuto Brad Pitt. Patrick ha recitato anche un divertente cammeo nella serie Will&Grace (season III) in cui interpretava un uomo oggetto delle attenzioni di Will.
